Deep pour epoxy has a slower, lower-heat cure cycle that allows much thicker single pours (often 2 inches or more) without the cracking or yellowing that can result from excessive exothermic heat buildup in a thick mass of standard epoxy.

MAS Penetrating Epoxy is a low-viscosity two-part system designed to wick into soft, punky, or deteriorated wood to consolidate and stabilize the fiber structure. It is used to repair rotted wood before coating, to stabilize soft areas in slabs before river table pours, and to prepare degraded wood for structural repair.

Table top epoxy is not food-safe once cured for food-contact surfaces like cutting boards — it is intended as a decorative and protective coating for surfaces like bar tops, table tops, and serving pieces that won't be cut on. For food-contact surfaces, use a finish specifically rated as food-safe.

MAS epoxy systems use a specific resin-to-hardener ratio by volume — always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific product you're using. Mix thoroughly for the full recommended time, scraping the sides and bottom of the container, to ensure complete catalyst activation and a clear, tack-free cure.

After pouring, pass a heat gun or propane torch in a slow sweep 6 to 8 inches above the surface — the heat reduces surface tension and pops bubbles before the epoxy gels. Do not hold the heat source stationary, as excessive localized heat can cause yellowing or fisheye.

MAS Deep Pour Epoxy and Deep Pour X are engineered for pours significantly thicker than table top epoxy — always check the product's current technical data sheet for the maximum recommended pour depth per batch, as it varies by formulation.
