Dust Collection Fittings

Most woodworking shop dust systems use 4" main ducts from the collector to tool drops, then transition to 2-1/2" branch lines at blast gates for individual tools. Handheld tools connect via 1-1/4" hoses. Using the correct reducer at each transition maintains airflow velocity so chips do not settle and block the duct.

Plastic blast gates are lightweight, affordable, and suitable for most hobby and semi-professional shops where gates are opened and closed periodically. The 4" aluminum blast gate is more durable under frequent use and heavy chip loads, and resists warping better than plastic in temperature-variable shop environments.

You need one blast gate per tool drop in your duct system.
