Flush Trim and Pattern Router Bits for Template Routing and Edge Trimming
Flush trim and pattern router bits use a pilot bearing to follow a template or reference surface, cutting the workpiece perfectly flush with it. This makes them indispensable for template routing identical parts, trimming laminate or veneer to the substrate edge, and cleaning up band-sawn curves to a finished profile.
Mega Flush Trim, Downshear, and Multi-Bearing Options
The Mega Flush Trim Router Bits feature an extra-long cutting length for trimming thick laminates and deep template-routing passes in a single cut. The Flush Trim Bits with Downshear add a downshear geometry to the cutting edges, which shears the top surface of the workpiece downward to prevent tearout — valuable when working with veneered panels or delicate face grain.
The Multi Bearing Pattern Router Bit Set includes interchangeable bearings of different diameters, allowing you to offset the cut slightly from the template for pattern-following work at different reference depths. Laminate trim bits are also available in 1/4" shank for smaller trim routers commonly used in countertop work.
Flush trim bits pair naturally with router jigs and guides and complement the full range of carbide router bits. For complete routing setups including tables and lifts, see routing tools and accessories.
